About myself...
At this moment I am 55 and the mother of three sons, grandmother of two wonderful and almost perfect teenagers and one adorable toddler. I love teaching and painting, but most of all sharing through email and meeting new people. I enjoy living in the country and walking in the woods--especially in the fall. It's beautiful during autumn in Georgia.
My life has been volatile and unhappy at times, but wildly creative and worthwhile at other times. I would welcome new friends and email buddies. Be sure to take a look at my webpage: http.www.onelilartist.com where you can see for yourself some of my paintings of Georgia wildlife and countryside like the one below I painted for my Daddy for Father's Day.
I have an Associate Degree from SUSJC, a BS from LaGrange College, a Master's Degree in Middle Grades Language Arts from Columbus State University, and am currently working on my Eds. or Specialist In Art Education at Columbus State University. All of the aforementioned means that I have spent a lot of time inside when I would much rather have been OUTside enjoying the beauty around me. I teach art in Middle School, which means sixth through eighth grades. My students are very talented and earn many ribbons in the shows they enter each year. I'm proud of their work and love to show it off. Below are two pictures of gourd artwork completed in my classroom this past session.
It is my hope to inspire young artists through introducing them to a world apart from the norm. Most children know nothing about the world that awaits them. Their lives are centered around the circumstances of their families. I want to broaden horizons and make it possible for dreams to become accessible for those I teach. Every year I find another budding artist with noticable potential and talent. I love teaching art, but I love doing art even more. When I am sad, I write. When I am inspired, I paint. I hope you enjoy my poetry and paintings. Writing keeps me sane in an insane world.
Thank you for the time you have taken to read my bio page.Jessica
